Community Engagement

Whether you are young or old, football can have a positive impact on people’s life’s and WLYF’s Community Engagement programmes are created to ensure this happens.

West Lothian Youth Foundation Initiatives

Reminiscence Initiative

Our Reminiscence Initiative started in August 2014 and brought students from local High Schools together with citizens with mild to moderate dementia to share their memories and experiences of senior Scottish Football matches from the 1960’s to the 2000’s.

Kno' the Score

WLYF’s ‘Kno’ the Score’ programme is a partnership between HMP Addiewell and the Foundation allowing the delivery a programme of football, fitness and educational activities for inmates.

Dads and Daughters

This unique course involves dads who are single parents, dads who are not living at home with their daughters, dads that are out of full time employment or dads who just want to spend more time with their daughters. The course allows dads to take part in football specific activities with their daughters.


Fit4life is designed specifically to improve the lives of young people who have been identified as being homeless and/or suffering from mental health issues in West Lothian.


Football Fans in Training (FFIT) is a hugely successful lifestyle programme aimed at getting males a little healthier and was designed by the SPFL Trust.
