Food Standards Agency (FSA) Programme
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) have developed a 6-week programme for Primary 4 pupils in West Lothian, encouraging them to eat healthily, get fit, and live hygienically.
The programme consists of six weeks of activities with LYF coaches during curriculum time, and six theory based classes delivered in school by class teachers. Topics covered include;
- Bacteria Facts
- Being Healthy
- Personal Hygiene
- Getting the Balance Right
- Food Storage
- Help Yourself Stay Healthy
The initiative is in partnership with the Scottish Football Association, and provides children with a fun, interactive learning experience. Each participants also receive a goodie bag to see them through the work, with a Mission Book keeping them on track.
These session are also linked to lo local Quality mark club and to encourage new members to join clubs.
